Compression set

The compression set is a measure that tests to what extent the properties of elastomers are retained after prolonged deformation. The elastomer specimens are tested under controlled conditions with a fixed deformation rate, time duration, and temperature.  After stress, the residual deformation of the specimen is compared with its original properties.
