Gelcoat (surface resin)

Using gelcoats offers a wide range of benefits:

• Various surface properties can be obtained by applying a thin layer (rigid to flexible, chemical resistance, polishability, etc.).
• A gelcoat, or surface resin, is used as the top coat in the lay-up process. The advantage of the lay-up process is that numerous different combinations of gelcoat and backing structure can be used.
• The surface quality of a gelcoat is far superior to that of a casting resin.
• Using gelcoats can ensure a blister-free surface even for complex geometries.
