Semi-finished products for molds

Semi-finished products are prefabricated products / raw material molds (intermediate goods) that are manufactured from materials. Semi-finished products are used in the manufacture of models, molds, or tools, which are required as process materials in the manufacture of production parts.

Typical semi-finished products in model and mold engineering are also known as plastic board materials. These plastic board materials are made of polyurethane or epoxy plastics and are available in a variety of different material properties.

The plastic board materials are semi-finished products as they are manufactured in defined dimensional standards. Users can keep the different board material qualities as stocked goods that are immediately available. In many cases, the required blank is made from plastic board materials (semi-finished products) via sawing and bonding.
