Static mixing

With the static mixing process, the static mixing heads installed mix the material components in a plastic mixing tube with internal coil. The reactive plastics are only combined once they are in the mixing tube, where a chemical reaction takes place between the components. These mixing tubes are available with different coils, and in various lengths and diameters, depending on the material used and their area of application.

Unlike equivalent systems with dynamic mixing, dispensing systems using static mixing do not normally include a rinsing system, i.e. the mixing tube is not cleaned after the dispensing process. To prevent material components from reacting in the mixing tube, one of these components is used for rinsing in most cases and rinsing continues until it is the only component left in the tube. This increases the amount of material required. Should the mixer become blocked despite this measure, the mixing tube can simply be replaced with a new one.
